Somewhere in Santa Barbara right now, a kid is staring at the water from the shore, wishing they could be out there. Not because they're not brave enough — but because a wetsuit, a lifeguard, a ride to the beach costs more than their family can spare. That's not a fair reason for a child to miss out on something that could change how they see themselves forever.
No family is ever turned away for what they can't pay. But someone still has to cover the gap between what a family can give and what it truly costs to keep a kid safe in the water.
