Privacy Policy

Sea League ("Sea League," "we," "us," or "our") is a project fiscally sponsored by Wilderness Youth Project. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit sealeague.org (the "Site"), register a child for a program, contact us, or otherwise interact with us.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Information you provide directly. Name, email address, mailing address, and phone number for parents/guardians; your child's name, age or grade, and any medical, allergy, swim-ability, or emergency-contact information needed to safely run a program; and any messages you send us through our contact form, email, or phone.
  • Registration and payment information. When you register for a program, registration is processed through Wilderness Youth Project's registration and payment system. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
  • Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we (and analytics providers we use) may automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring URL, typically through cookies or similar technologies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process program registrations, scholarships, and waitlists;
  • Communicate with you about your child's program, schedule changes, and safety information;
  • Respond to inquiries and provide customer support;
  • Improve, secure, and maintain the Site and our programs;
  • Send occasional newsletters or updates, which you may opt out of at any time; and
  • Comply with legal, safety, and reporting obligations.

3. Children's Privacy

Our programs serve youth ages 6–14, but our Site itself is directed at parents, guardians, and schools, not at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Site. Information about a child (such as name, age, or health information relevant to program safety) is provided to us by a parent or guardian during registration, and is used solely to operate that child's program safely. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information directly and without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Wilderness Youth Project, our fiscal sponsor, whose registration system processes enrollment and payment and is subject to their own privacy practices as well;
  • Service providers who help us operate the Site, process payments, send email, or provide analytics, under obligations to protect your information; and
  • Legal or safety authorities where required by law, or where necessary to protect the safety of a child in our care.

5. Photos & Media

We regularly photograph program activities for our website gallery, social media, and promotional materials. Photo and video consent is collected separately as part of program registration. If you would like a specific photo of your child removed from the Site, contact us and we will address the request promptly.

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working properly and to understand how visitors use it (for example, via analytics tools). You can control cookies through your browser settings; note that disabling cookies may affect some Site functionality.

7. Data Security & Retention

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We retain program and contact records only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.

8. Your Rights & Choices

You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you or your child, or opt out of marketing emails, by contacting us using the information below. California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion; we do not sell personal information.

9. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party sites (such as our registration system or social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and encourage you to review their policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
